A funny thing happened last week.  As anyone who actually read this thing knows, I threw up a story that I had abandoned (it was obviously unfinished as I hadn’t even picked last names for some of the characters).  Oddly enough, that story skyrocketed my views, as evidenced by the visits graph above.  Now, skyrocketing is a relative term as it was still firmly in the double digits.  However, this is encouraging.

Running statistics on the small sample size of my posts is rather optimistic, but there is a pattern that has emerged: my actual stories get way better responses than my random blathering.  My two peaks in visits were right after both of my scraps.

There’s a lesson here, if I’m smart enough to learn it.  It’s not just about making sure to update this thing every week, but I need to throw up some actual writing.  Yeah, that seems like it should be obvious, but for some reason, I didn’t expect my writing to get that kind of response.

Okay, message received.  I’ll work on it.

By the way, thanks to Kevin for the kindness of shaming his nerdier Facebook friends into reading it.

If, for some odd reason, you have no idea to which story I refer, it’s called Mainstay.  Hey, my grandmas liked it!
