Blog blog blog

So, Mariah has been getting on my case about this blog, and she is so totally right that it’s almost unfair.  Of course, she’s my wife, so she’s nearly always right, but that’s not the point.

When I started this blog, I had intended to post about writing in all of the ways that I could.  Well, as it turns out, that was a bit overly ambitious of me.  After all, it’s tough to come up with material about writing when I’m so new at it.  Sure, I could list off the various things I read about and listen to, but that would get old quick.  It’s pretty much finding different ways to say “writing is tough, but it is fun.”  There are plenty of people out there saying the exact same thing.

This is not to say that I haven’t been working, because I have.  I enjoy my writing, and though it goes slower some days than others, I try to put forth several hours of it each workday.  I’ve just been struggling with coming up with things to talk about here.  Cue family assistance.

It was Mariah and my stepfather who basically said, “you know, you could write about anything you want.  It’s your blog.”  Dammit, they’re right.

I took a peek at other blogs by writers.  I mean, they’re already doing this, so I might as well steal  shamelessly.  For the most part, very few of them blog about writing, especially every day.  They write about the things they have going on or the things about which they are passionate.

Okay, I can do that.  Here we go.

Well.

Okay, I’ll have to think of something there too, but it should open up my available source material.

The point is this:  I have let this blog dwindle because I was errant in my initial goals.  I have had my course corrected (mostly by Mariah), and I will redouble my efforts to keep this thing going, even if it’s just a 300+ word post about how I never post anything.

God, I feel like Scott Ramsoomair.

Stay tuned for a post about something on Monday.

Also:  The image art for this piece was courtesy of…me!  Turns out drawing with sidewalk chalk on Lliam’s easel is super fun, so stay tuned for more of that.
